CEILING TILES: Currently completing the final three painted ceiling tiles for the providers at the University of Minnesota's Women's Clinic at Boynton Health Service.
MIDWEST ARTS IN HEALTHCARE NETWORK: Karolyn Stirewalt is now serving as a member of MAIHN's Strategic Planning Committee.
WOODLAND HILLS CHURCH: Painting, "Garden of Grace" was featured in the January 7-8, 2012 Woodland Hills' church bulletin.
BOYNTON HEALTH SERVICE: Mural, "Enchanted Sunset" was selected for inclusion in the
2012 Boynton Health Service's Art Calendar. It is the featured painting for the month of July as well as the cover of the calendar.
2011
LOGO PAINTING: Red Devil Equipment, Co. commissioned Splash of Red Studio to paint its logo for use as a backdrop in a television episode of "World's Greatest" featuring the company. The episode aired in January, 2011.
PAINTED TABLE TOP: Gillette Children's Hospital commissioned Splash of Red Studio to paint a 36" round painted table top for a children's playroom. The tabletop features a treehouse theme, with a rhyming poem and hidden objects that include toys found in the playroom.
CEILING TILES: Designed and painted eight cusotmized ceiling tiles for the providers of the Women's Clinic at the University of Minnesota's Boynton Health Service.
THERAPEUTIC PAINTING: Karolyn paints for the patients at Pathways Health Crisis Resouce Center in Minneapolis starting June, 2011. Call (651) 485-7766 for more information.
EDINA ART CENTER: Splash of Red Studio had two pieces of art on display at the Edina Art Center's exhibit: Journeys-Healing Through Art. The juried exhibit took place August 11-September 14, 2011.
FEATURED ARTIST: Karolyn was the featured artist on the Midwest Arts In Healthcare webpage from July through September 2011.
MURAL: Karolyn painted a motivational mural for the Physical Therapy department of Boynton Health Service. The mural had a triathelon theme at the request of PT department staff.
2010
GILLETTE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ANNUAL REPORT COVER: Cusomized illustration was created for the 2009 Gillette Children's Annual Report cover. The theme for the report was “Growing Together." The illustration included Gillette Children's Hospital, financial corporate contributors to the expansion project and others who contributed to the success of Gillette in 2009.
MURAL: "The Healers" mural was created to brighten the hallways of Gillette during the construction project and to celebrate the opening of the new building. Measuring 16' (w) x 7' (h), the mural was designed to be taken apart and moved to various locations throughout the hospital. The colorful image depicts a parade of happy children, actual Gillette employees, volunteers, and service dogs making their way from the original Gillette building to the new building located across the street. The people are surrounded by corporate contributors to the construction project; the St. Paul skyline, and other recognizable St. Paul landmarks and buildings. The windows in the hospital buildings, and the moon and stars in the sky glow in the dark.
COFFEE SHOP TABLES: Two rectangular wooden table tops were painted for Gillette's new coffee shop. The tables feature rhyming poems and a “find the hidden objects” theme. They were designed to entertain families and patients while they wait for their appointments to begin.
